Grand, grand, and grand - perfect word to describe the palace of Versailles. It is located in the Île-de-France region of France, Versailles remains to be one of the most visited attractions of France. Intricate rooms, extravagant chandeliers, and endless gardens - there is no doubt that Versailles belongs to grand of the grands.
As I pick some of the highlights of this trip, I try to envision places that made me feel speechless, and just mesmerized for that moment to be be just thankful because travelling, is about a celebration of life eh?
Hustle and bustle, in some parts of Versailles,as its flocked with tourists like ourselves, but no worries Versaillesis big enough for everyone. You think that palace is huge? Wait till you see the garden!
Once you walk inside and passed through the lines and lines of guests (don't worry, it's worth the wait), be prepared to just be wowed. Walking in the palace, you'll see the massive gate with gold trimmings. You'll passed through security, and up you go to see the grand furnishings of the palace. There are places that make you feel that you're part of it, rather than viewing it. For the most part, I advocate for being part of the experience, but there are times that I don't mind being just an audience. Why? Because Palace of Versailles is like a museum on steroid, in a good way. If you don't know by now, French pride itself with architecture and all fine things in life - I couldn't agree more. :)
This place is truly incredible, I don't think there's anything like it. If you ever get the chance to see it, definitely should do it. It's worth of a life-time experience, seriously. Make sure to allot a whole day for it, there is plenty to see in the palace and explore the garden. Although there were tour buses that took you from Paris, I think it's quite a tourist trap. I recommend taking the RER train, about an hour from Opera District (just make sure not to get lost, if you do, just ask the locals where Versailles is, and you will be fine).
