Eat and Be Merry, Canico Restaurante
There’s something simple, and yet so astonishing in enjoying a good a glass or should I say, pitcher of Sangria. Along the beach, built in between cliffs, just sounds so romantic eh? While sipping my drink, I had this feeling of Nirvana. Realization of how lucky I am to be where I am, a feeling of appreciation. I’m not sure if it’s the serenity, maybe the drink, the food, or the combination of everything, I was sure that I was in the right place at the right time.
Like any other restaurant, we were asked if we wanted any bread and butter, but we weren’t there for that. So, we politely said no. Just to let you know that the menu can be a bit puzzling. The menu lists per kg price, and most of the entrées are not close to this weight. In short, it’s better to ask your waiter’s opinion if you want to get the exact pricing. It’s a pleasant surprise, I would say.
We started our meal with a fresh shrimp cocktail, different expectation from American version, but can’t really complain about the taste. The zest is very refreshing, and ideal for the type of weather Algarve has.
For main, it was steak and fish. Don’t think I need to say more, these pictures speak for themselves – they were oozing with freshness and flavors.
Can’t have a complete meal, without d-e-s-s-e-r-t.
I wouldn’t worry too much about the name of the desserts because they will bring the whole platter so you can have an idea, and choose.
Overall, this experience was one of the most memorable dining out I have. The taste and presentation of the food was exceptional. Service as we all know is also important; and that they did not fall short off. Be prepare to leave the restaurant feeling revived and have different look at cuisine.
